International Conference “Sustainable Economic and Social Development of Euroregions and Cross-Border Areas”

The dynamics of scientific activity within the economics team of the Institute of Economic and Social Research “Gh. Zane” continues to take into account the very current and complex issue of Euroregions, finding from the beginning in the City Hall of Iași, the Euroregion Association Siret Prut Nistru, S.C. Eastern Marketing Insights S.R.L, the State University “Alecu Russo”, Bălți – Republic of Moldova, respectively the Cooperatist – Commercial University, Chişinău, Republic of Moldova, sincere partners willing to deepen the issue of cooperation in this European space. Later, 2 more partners joined with whom collaboration agreements were signed by the parties for the organization of the conference through actions to support this event. These two partners are: the Joint Higher Education Institution “Academy of Culture and Arts” Transcarpathian Regional Council of Ukraine and the National Institute for the Training and Improvement of Lawyers – Iași Territorial Center (I.N.P.P.A. – C.T. Iași)

The event is addressed to representatives of the academic environment, experts and practitioners in fields such as: economics, sociology, legal sciences, tourism, agricultural sciences, environment, health, education, culture and art, as well as specialists in the substantiation and application of models and strategies for the development of the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion. The purpose of this event is to assess the current state of economic and social development of the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion, identify research areas and new possibilities for collaboration and cooperation in the most important areas of life and activity within the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion, encourage university teachers, researchers, master’s and doctoral students to contribute to identifying short, medium and long-term solutions, develop joint scientific papers and publications; exchange of scientific information, papers, specialized publications; etc.

Objectives of the Event:

• Evaluation of the current state of economic and social development of the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion.
• Presentation of natural and human resources, entrepreneurial capacities, historical, geographical, cultural, religious, scientific, artistic and sporting realities.
• Stimulation of the dissemination of existing information and research results. Presenting the Romanian contribution to sustainable development in the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion.
• Identifying research areas and new possibilities for collaboration in the most important areas of life and activity within the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion.
• New collaboration projects between researchers and teaching staff on both banks of the Prut, between the administrative-territorial units within the Euroregion and between business people.

Encouraging university teaching staff, researchers, master’s and doctoral students to contribute to identifying short, medium and long-term solutions.

The conference is divided into 4 main sections:

1. Economic and social development of the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion and cross-border areas;
2. Empirical models, and decision theory;
3. Psychology and educational sciences;
4. Legislative trends in the context of globalization.

In this context, we inform you that this year the COLLECTIVE VOLUME WITH NUMBER 49 was reached, through the effort of our colleagues CS I TALABA ION, CS II PADURARU TEODOR, CSIII DONCEAN MARILENA, CSIII ALECU CIPRIAN, CSIII OVIDIU GHERASIM, CS TACU GEORGIANA and our collaborators CONF.DR.DUMITRU TUDOR JIJIE, CONF.DR.CARMEN MARIANA DEACON, COUNSELOR SIMONA CUCIUREANU.

The last 5 collective volumes, namely numbers 45. 46. 47, 48, 49, were published by the publishing house recognized by the Romanian Academy, namely EDITURA PRESA CLUJEANĂ, which belongs to the “Babeş–Bolyai” University of Cluj.

Conclusions

The international conference “SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC-SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT OF EUROREGIONS AND CROSS-BORDER AREAS”, has a major impact on the academic, university and entrepreneurial environment.

University teachers and researchers have the opportunity to share their vast knowledge in the field with those present and interested, thus contributing to the professional and scientific training of young professionals in education and research and to the improvement of the conditions of professional training.

The experience of past editions of the conference shows that the results of this scientific event contribute to the improvement of academic research and to the intensification of cross-border collaboration regarding the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion. The increased contribution of knowledge disseminated during the conference helps those interested to better understand the notions, concepts, theories, strategies and policies with broad applicability.

The importance of this scientific session for this space is also given by the large number of participants from past editions, interested in the conference theme, being not only researchers and teachers, but also representatives of public authorities and the private sector, both from Romania and the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, etc. The organizers’ tenacity made it reach the 21st edition.

Although the papers are very varied in terms of topics, they are nevertheless convergent in the proposals aimed at the most efficient ways and means in terms of cooperation and development.
