“Law, Justice and the Judiciary” Scientific Symposium
3rd Edition. Human Rights and Interests in Global Governance
Prezentare evenimentEvent Presentation
Organized in the proximity of International Human Rights Day, marking the anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the third edition of the national symposium “Law, Justice and the Judiciary” debates the rights and interests of individuals in the context of global governance.
Global governance designates the system of norms, institutions, procedures, processes, mechanisms that seek to solve global challenges through cooperation between international actors, be they states, governmental and non-governmental organizations or other forms of representation of civil society or professionals in various fields. Transnational problems such as human rights, challenges to global peace and security, environmental protection and climate change or sustainable development are addressed through a variety of global norms and mechanisms of action, both distinctly and in integrative formulas, which emphasize their interdependence. Whether through specialized political and legal declarations, treaties and conventions, international or regional institutions and courts, or the current 2030 Agenda and its fundamental concept of “leaving no one behind”, global governance declaratively aims to respect the rights and interests of all individuals. At the same time, the progress made and the results achieved, as they can be noticed in the political, legal and social reality, remain under the sign of significant difficulties, which maintain the topicality of their discussion among specialists.
In this context, the symposium represents a space for academic debate on issues in the sphere of the rights and interests of individuals, as they are configured and reflected at the global, regional and national levels.
We therefore welcome you to participate in this event, which will take place on December 5, 2025, starting at 10:00, online, and to indicate your intention to participate by sending the title of the presentation and a short summary (approx. 150 words), in Romanian, by November 21, 2025.
