ENIS 2025 International Conference, held in Iași

During June 3–6, 2025, Iași hosted the ENIS 2025 International Conference: The Future of International Student Mobility – a reference event in the field of international academic mobility research.

The event was co-organized by The Romanian Academy – Iași Branch and “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, with the generous support of The City Hall Iași, and was the final conference of the European project CA20115 – European Network on International Student Mobility: Connecting Research and Practice (ENIS), carried out within the framework of the COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) program.

The event brought together over 70 international researchers from 27 countries, benefiting from the participation of prominent figures from the academic and institutional environment, including:

  • Ligia Deca, Secretary General of the Romanian National Commission for UNESCO,

  • Dr. Catherine Montgomery, Durham University, United Kingdom,

  • Dr. Christof Van Mol, Tilburg University, Netherlands (COST ENIS project director),

  • Dr. Nicolai Netz, Center for Higher Education, Germany (co-director of COST ENIS project),

  • Acad. Victor Spinei, Romanian Academy, Iași Branch

  • Prof. univ. Dr. Liviu-George Maha, Rector of the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași.

With a dense and varied scientific program, the conference provided a conducive framework for high-level academic dialogue and for the development of sustainable international partnerships in the field of student mobility research.
