ICES 3.1 Project: Photography between truth and fiction, in the digital imaginary

Descrierea proiectuluiProject Description

We believe that a digital anthropology of the photographic imaginary is influenced by four main domains in which photography is now qualified, in terms of both its production and the products obtained: the artistic, the scientific, the journalistic and the popular. For a unification of these approaches in a consolidated theory of photography, we need new investigations in: the concept of photographic representation, in the hermeneutics of photography, in the epistemology of photographic discourse and in the ethnography of image production in the public-private environment. The fundamental concepts used as regulatory factors within this research project will be: alethic value, pertinence, relevance, aesthetic value, personal value, discourse, representation.
