ICES-6.3 Project: UN Sustainable Development Goals. Interdisciplinary Perspectives

The general objective of the project is represented by the inter-, pluri- and multidisciplinary study of the UN Sustainable Development Goals targeting the issues of peace, justice and human rights. The research starts from the hypotheses according to which the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda reflect a universalist vision of development, and the global development agenda is currently characterized by a discourse on inequality and justice, having human rights as its cornerstone. The specific objectives involve: analysis of philosophical and political theories regarding the Sustainable Development Goals; investigation of the issues of peace, justice, human rights, rule of law, efficiency of institutions in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals; exploration of the efficiency of the SDGs from both a legal and a political perspective; advancement of proposals for the development of the SDGs post-2030.

Obiectivele proiectuluiProject Objectives

Overall objective: Exploring universalism/internationalism at the level of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Specific objectives:

  1. Identifying elements of universalism or internationalism in the way the Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030) are conceived.
  2. Investigating universalist and anti-universalist theories in relation to the contemporary discourse on development.

Operational objectives:

O1: Publishing the research results within the research theme “The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in the context of universalism“, with ICES/AR/ARFI affiliation and in compliance with academic quality standards.

O2: Participation in scientific sessions with own papers, with ICES/AR/ARFI affiliation and in compliance with academic quality standards.
